Can I afford it?
Our computers are taking on a greater importance in our lives all the time for keeping in contact via email and social networks like MSN, Facebook, Skype etc; We need them for work and also for entertainment.
These are 3 very important parts of our lives. When you're dealing with this machine that opens the door to these aspects of every day life the last thing you want to be doing is getting frustrated and annoyed.
You want the process to be as smooth as possible.
This is where I can help.
It is a lot cheaper than you think:
My last three jobs at the time of writing are here as an example.
- I'm dropping a laptop back to a client tonight who complained that it had become slower and slower to the point where it took minutes to startup and programs took forever to load. My client was worried that because the Antivirus had not been renewed it must have a virus. As it turned out the laptop merely needed a good cleanup and I installed a new Antivirus program. The total cost was $40.
- The second last job was also a laptop which was very slow but it was only a few months old and my client was ready to throw it out the window. This time it was because the unit had been shipped with barely enough memory to cope with the basic operations, let alone additional programs needed for work. I installed 4 times the amount of memory it had and the laptop is now rocketing along. The total cost was $125 including parts.
- On the weekend I dropped back a desktop PC which, concidentally enough, was also running very slowly but this time had the telltale signs of a full infection of malware - it was a win32 worm. Nasty. After struggling with it for a while we agreed the best solution was to reformat the Hard Drive and reinstall Windows and all the programs and data. The total cost was $150 for a fresh, clean computer.
My rates are:
$60 for the first hour then $30 for any hour after that in a single session.
